Hike to the Pleisenhütte cabin

Route description

After using the time stamp in the spa centre to register your start time, you’ll take the bus from the spa centre to Scharnitz and the Isar bridge. From there, at the Scharnitz Traffic Office, you will go uphill to the left across the rail platform. Immediately afterwards, turn to the left and proceed a short way up in the direction of Brunnsteinspitze. The route then branches to the right through the slopes at right angles to the PürzIris, after a few minutes ascending to the Pürzel chapel.

Remaining on the same side of the valley, the route continues slightly downhill to the road leading into the Karwendel valley, entering the valley for around 1 km. Then turn to the right, cross the Karwendel footbridge over the Karwendel stream, and proceed through the forest until the road forks. Here, turn sharply to the left and then, following wide bends (once branching off to the left) continue to the Pleisenhütte cabin. (1st checkpoint)

Returning, again take the route with the wide bends to the Wasserlegraben, and then proceed slightly downhill to a large meadow (Lablehner). Now, proceed steeply downhill to the Wiesenhof (2nd checkpoint), pass the gravel works, and continue into Scharnitz to the church. Here, you can take the bus back to the spa centre.

Today you successfully met the greatest challenge this circular hiking route has to offer – congratulations!

Enjoy the evening with friends over a good meal … or what about a sociable get-together accompanied by local musicians?
