Salzburg – the city of Mozart
| Even in Roman times, Salzburg was an important fortress (“Juvavum”) on the army route leading to the north. Today, this city in Upper Austria is a baroque jewel, with a cityscape dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. Its most famous son is probably Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Those with a sweet tooth can also thank him for a masterpiece of the confectioner's art: Mozartkugeln, balls of chocolate and marzipan which naturally taste best in Salzburg! And those who prefer intellectual to physical pleasures should not miss the famous Salzburg Festival. | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
